What is the Definition of a Mentorship?

Anyone can teach you. But it takes a mentor to AWAKEN you.

With so many different female mentoring & women's leadership mentoring programs available to the masses, it’s no wonder that the term “mentorship” has lost a great part of its essence. It’s gotten to the point where many professional women seeking a community to network with likeminded professionals and mentors to guide them into the next evolution of their lives often feel very confused about what mentorship is.

Mentorship is an authentic, intentional, and purposeful relationship between two or more individuals where the mentor (teacher) guides the mentee (student). The mentor provides guidance and direction as the mentee evolves from one aspect of their lives and grow into the next evolution of their lives.

All mentors are teachers. But not all who teach are mentors.

The main difference between a teacher and a mentor is gap between knowledge and wisdom.

Both teachers and mentors are knowledgeable on the topic of which they are providing guidance and direction. However, the mentor goes beyond the surface of knowledge and expertise. A mentor dives deep into mastery. Mentors master the application of wisdom to the knowledge they are dispensing.

Mentorship is the path through which the mentor AWAKENS you along the journey to your destination.
